William Wong
AIA, LEED AP

Seeing a project transform from the digital space into a physical, tangible entity is as exciting today as it was when I walked onto my first job site almost 20 years ago.

Will Wong, a native New Yorker, has always been intrigued by the constant evolution of the city’s skyline and infrastructure. He took hand drafting elective courses in high school, a decision that kicked off his career.

Having spent his whole life surrounded by construction, Will is interested in the critical and complex process of building in a dense urban environment. His philosophy emphasizes durable and enduring designs that promote public interaction. A leader of design and project management across the firm’s workplace, retail, academic, and civic projects, he has provided services for a diverse set of clients including the General Services Administration, Columbia University, Abrams Books, and Hermès of Paris.

On his inaugural project at Spacesmith, Will coordinated and oversaw the buildout of the 100,000-square-foot, LEED Gold-certified offices for Global Brands Group in the Empire State Building. His management of Halletts Point—a mixed-use residential development in Queens, with a playroom that his daughter had the chance to enjoy—displays his vast understanding of code compliance and his unwavering desire to contribute to spaces that benefit communities.

Will holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. His commitment to sustainability transcends his work and permeates personal life; he is currently teaching his family the benefits of backyard composting.
